At Hawai‘i Wildlife Center in Kapa‘au, Hawai‘i Island

The ‘Ōpe‘ape‘a (Hawaiian hoary bat) inhabits most of the main Hawaiian Islands and is most often noticed just before nightfall as it hunts for bugs and insects using its echolocation ability. These bats are generally solitary and roost alone in trees or shrubs, not in large numbers or in caves like many other bat species.

This ‘Ohana (family) style painting class is a medium-level instruction event.

*This event will be filmed and included in Patrick Ching’s “Painting in Paradise” TV show.

$60 includes acrylic paints, 8” x 10” canvas, all supplies and an introduction “About Hawai‘i’s ‘Ōpe‘ape‘a” by a Hawai‘i Wildlife Center Spokesperson.

A portion of tuition goes toward Hawai‘i Wildlife Center.
